Despite the occasional challenge and hardship in the ultra-combatitive business, Paltrow has stayed loyal to her ideals and wider visions.

Creating a lifestyle phenomenon

From a delicious recipe to finding a perfect dress for spring, Gwyneth Paltrow began curating the best of lifestyle to help women save time, simplify and feel inspired.

Since its launch in 2008, her company has grown into an eminent lifestyle publication and popular e-shop which, in many respects, is leading the way for the whole industry.

And with her success, Paltrow feels she is doing much more than business. She could be setting an encouraging example to other women.

It’s a man’s world

“I’m in meetings with investment bankers, VC firms, private equity firms—you name it, across the board, men,” Paltrow says, and follows it up with a punchline.

“You know, women in 30 minutes can get more accomplished than men in two hours.”

Yet it’s often not about discrimination or the proverbial glass ceiling. It’s about lack of trust and support among women themselves.

“I don’t care so much about the men, but I wish that women were slightly more understanding of other women,” Gwyneth Paltrow shares her experience. “A lot of women reporters try to pit me against other women doing entrepreneurial things.”

“There’s room for everybody,” the influential actress and entrepreneur wants to believe.

Economic success and social responsibility

Gwyneth Paltrow’s company is donating part of its earnings  to the David Lynch Foundation. The DLF, a non-profit teaching TM meditation to students, war veterans and others most in need, was selected because of its ‘proven success in helping children’.
