If you’re looking to achieve higher states of consciousness, you may want to consider transcendental meditation. This simple, natural technique allows the mind to experience relief from stress and access higher states of consciousness. In this post, we’ll explore the different states of consciousness and how transcendental meditation can help you reach them.

There are 3 states of consciousness: waking, dreaming, and sleeping, which we are ordinarily aware of; but what about transcendental consciousness, God consciousness, or unity consciousness? These are all higher states of consciousness that can be achieved through the practice of Transcendental Meditation (TM).

Transcendental consciousness: the 4th state of consciousness

Transcendental meditation allows the practitioner to move beyond the thinking mind into a field of pure awareness or pure consciousness. This is the 4th state of consciousness and is experienced as a deep inner silence or stillness. This is the experience of one’s own true nature, one’s own self. From this place of restful alertness, the meditator experiences a profound refreshment of energy, creativity, and intelligence.

Cosmic consciousness, the 5th state of consciousness

As a person continues to practice transcendental meditation regularly, they may spontaneously begin to experience deeper levels of awareness or higher states of consciousness.

This includes the experience of cosmic consciousness, the 5th state of consciousness, where one experiences the silence of pure consciousness along with day-to-day activity. In this state, the events of life are like a line drawn in air. They do not disturb that inner value of silence, which permeates everything.

God consciousness, the 6th state of consciousness

With further practice, one may experience God-consciousness—6th state of consciousness. In this state of consciousness, the heart swells in devotion to creation and one perceives the finest level of creation. One’s perception can see the celestial level of creation and the heart is filled with love and devotion to God.

Unity consciousness: the 7th state of consciousness

Finally, unity consciousness, 7th state of consciousness—the complete identification with the unified field of all laws of nature—is the highest state of human development possible. In this state of consciousness, there is no separation between oneself and to creation. It is completely unified and experienced as one unbounded self connecting everything. This is the full development of one’s heart and mind.

Conclusion:

If you’re looking to achieve higher states of consciousness, transcendental meditation is a great option. This simple technique allows you to move beyond the thinking mind and into a field of pure awareness or pure consciousness.

With regular practice, you may even spontaneously experience deeper levels than transcendental meditation—such as cosmic consciousness or God-consciousness. If you’re interested in exploring higher states of consciousness, Transcendental Meditation may be for you.
